What to do after you miss a day (or a week)

Missing days is normal. The useful question is not “why did I fail?” but “what got in the way, and how do I make tomorrow easier?”

A missed day is information

When you skip your action, something specific usually happened: you ran out of time, you were tired, the step was too big, or you forgot. Naming it turns a vague feeling of failure into something you can plan around.

Restart smaller, not harder

The instinct after a bad week is to make up for it by doing double. That usually makes the next miss more likely. Instead, make tomorrow’s step smaller than before, and make it easy to start: same time, same place, already set up.

Change the plan if it doesn’t fit your life

If the same thing keeps getting in the way, the plan needs to change, not your character. Move the action to a different time, cut it in half, or swap it for something that fits. Adjusting a plan is part of the process, not giving up.

Try it: In myEnku, check in honestly (“Didn’t get to it” is a valid answer) and use “Make my step smaller” if you’ve missed a few days.
